The show will again be on Hammes Field at Case High School. The address is 7345 Washington Avenue, Racine, Wisconsin.  HERE is a Google Map showing its location.  In case of inclement weather, the show may be moved to the Racine Case HS Fieldhouse.  Ample spectator parking is available on the north side of the Racine Case HS campus closest to Washington Avenue.

A printable SCHEDULE OF BANDS for the Racine show is available at the link.  LVW will be the third band to perform, with our performance time at 7:52.  The show will begin at 7:00 PM, which is one half hour sooner than most of our shows this season.

I received word from Mukwonago that you can pre-order tickets and save $2 on each!  If you would like to go on line an order MUKWONAGO TICKETS, click on the link.

Tickets are $7 each if you order on line, and $9 at the gate on Friday.  The pre-ordered tickets will be held at the Will-Call window.

Here is travel information for the first day of our trip, Thursday, June 28.  Please notice that we will be starting buses from two separate locations - MLHS and FVL. 

Students should PACK A BAG LUNCH for Thursday, which we will eat when we arrive at Janesville.

 Luther HS students will go directly to Janesville, while the Shoreland students have the option of meeting at the Watertown Plank Park and Ride or going directly to Janesville.  

FVL and WLA students should follow the FVL schedule.  We will be picking up in Oshkosh and Fond du Lac before heading to Janesville.  Students from MLHS, KML, and WLHS should follow the Manitowoc Bus schedule.

Here is information for the LVW members and chaperons as you prepare for the upcoming rehearsal and performance weekend.

PACK A BAG LUNCH for Wednesday, June 20.  Rehearsal begins at 10:00 AM.  All other meals will be provided by LVW.

We will be staying in camp host homes for Wednesday night. On Thursday, we will be staying overnight at FVL, so all LVW members and staff are to bring overnight gear for that night.

Remember, you should pack for FIVE days, but try to utilize small suitcases and duffel bags. We are traveling with school buses for this trip (Friday - Sunday), so space will be limited.

Rehearsal camp will take place on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday morning. We will be leaving Friday afternoon for Milwaukee and the remainder of our weekend, which will culminate at the Oregon Show on Sunday night.

For the upcoming weekend, LVW will be entering our first competitive parades and field shows of the 2012 season. Performances this weekend include the following:

James Neujahr will be going to Dubuque, IA on Saturday to see his son Josh march with the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps at their Preview event.  Therefore, if you have to call the band for any reason, contact Randy Kramer.  James will be with the band on Friday and Sunday.

Since this is a travel weekend, LVW members should remember to pack the following:

Sleeping bag and pillow
Air mattress (optional)
ONE suitcase (Remember, we are on School Buses this weekend)
All personal items as needed (towel, soap and shampoo, change of clothes, DEODERANT, etc.)
BLACK SHOES AND SOCKS, BLACK A-4 T-SHIRTS, BLACK GLOVES, GUARD APPAREL, ETC. (Note we have FIVE performances this trip!)

Good Sunday Dress for church. Ladies and gentlemen MAY wear NICE DRESS SHORTS FOR CHURCH. Ladies, no spaghetti strap dresses. We are witnesses in our dress as well.

On Sunday, we will be worshiping in the 8:00 AM service at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lake Mills. The address is 1530 South Main Street, Lake Mills, WI 53551. This is a communion service, and all are invited to participate. The LVW choir will also be singing in the service.

Checkout Procedures for Sunday, June 24
If you are going to be picked up following the Oregon Field Show, and are not returning on the bus or with your school’s transportation, the following procedures MUST be followed:

1.  Your parents must pick you up where we are changing out of uniform. For this weekend, that will be on Sunday, at Oregon HS (456 N. Perry Pkwy, Oregon, WI 53575). Please be aware, If you are picking up your child, you must be there before the band is ready to leave. If you are not there when the band is ready to leave, your child will come with the band.

2.  Your parents must check you out with the attendance chaperone from your bus. This must be done with you and your parent present.

3.   If your parents are not there when the band is ready to leave, you will come with us. We leave no one behind – EVER!

4.  You may not ride home with anyone else other than your parents UNLESS you have a written permission signed by your parents, and UNLESS that written permission is put into our hands. DON’T FORGET THE NOTE AT HOME, because there are NO EXCEPTIONS!

The Oregon Summerfest Parade will begin at 12:30 PM. At this time I do not know LVW’s position number in the parade, but I do know that we will be the second to last band in the parade. Therefore we will be near the end of the parade. Great seats for this parade can be found all along the parade route. This is a judged parade, so if you are in the judging area, please be respectful of all bands, and cheer loudly after the band has finished its performance.

LVW, along with the Racine Lighthouse Brigade, the Sound of Sun Prairie, and the Shadow Armada from Oregon will be performing in exhibition at the DCI show in Whitewater on Friday, July 6.  This show is one of only a handful of DCI shows that will be held in Wisconsin this year.  Beautiful Perkins Stadium, on the campus of UW-Whitewater, will be the setting.  This stadium was host to the very first Drum Corps International Championship back in 1972, and has continued to be an important stop for DCI over the years.  It will be an honor and a privilege for our band to march on the field and join many of DCI's top performing corps in one of the best shows in the entire Midwest this summer!
