7/9/2013

We have not received any information yet for the show in Milton hosted by the Green Beret.  If and when we receive more information we will post it to this site.

The show will be held at Milton HS, located at 114 E High St, Milton, WI .  Ticket prices will most likely be in the $7-8 range as it has been for past MACBDA shows.

Here is a schedule for the Milton show.  We do know that the band from Saskatoon will NOT be performing in this show, so the show times may be moved up to eliminate that space.  We are  not sure yet, so it would be best to be there by 7:30 to make sure you catch LVW's performance.

7:30 - Opening Ceremonies
7:45 - Saskatoon
8:02 - Lutheran Vanguard of Wisconsin
8:19 - Sound of Sun Prairie
8:36 - Lighthouse Brigade
8:53 - Shadow Armada
9:10 - Green Beret
9:27 - Awards (Drum Majors Only)

Below is some basic site information for the July 12th Lighthouse Brigade of Racine Home Show as provided by the Lighthouse Brigade:

· The show will again be on Hammes Field at Case High School. The address is 7345 Washington Avenue, Racine, Wisconsin.

· Parking will be restricted for the bands due to reconstruction of the North parking lot at the school. We will have someone meet each band to direct them to their parking spot. In order to have parking for fans we will be parking multiple bands in close proximity.

· Field space for practice and warm up will be on a first come first serve basis as in prior years. However, there are a number of sporting fields on the site that should provide more than sufficient space for all of the bands.

· Entrance to the stadium for competition will be from the south side of the field, the same as in prior years.

· The school Cafeteria will be available for use by the bands.· Limited access to the kitchen will be available, primarily for water and clean up purposes.

· In the event of a storm a stand still performance will be done within the Fieldhouse. We will provide a storm plan when you arrive at the school.

· The judging reviews will be held in the school cafeteria.

LVW MACBDA and Music City Tour Packing List

7/1/2013

What to Bring
  • Sleeping bag and pillow
  • Air mattress (optional)
  • ONE suitcase and ONE small carry-on bag for inside the bus – LABELED WITH NAME, ADDRESS, AND NAME OF SCHOOL
  • A small draw-string bag or backpack will be very useful for days when we are sightseeing for storing cash, hats, cameras, etc.
  • Movies (DVD) for on the bus – Disney movies, Zorro, The Princess Bride, the usual! R-rated movies are NOT acceptable.
  • All personal items as needed (towel, soap and shampoo, several changes of clothes, DEODERANT, etc.)
  • BLACK SHOES AND SOCKS (several pairs), Black A4 T-SHIRTS (two to several), CLEAN BLACK GLOVES, BLACK SHORTS FOR UNDER THE UNIFORM, GUARD APPAREL, ETC. (Note we have FIVE parades and FOUR field shows this trip!)
  • Instruments, dot books, music, reeds, oils, etc. – CASES MUST BE LABELED AS INDICATED ABOVE
  • Water jugs, sunscreen, sunglasses, comfortable marching shoes, hats, etc.
  • Swimming suit and towel
  • Spending money for souvenirs – We will have time to shop at Navy Pier in Chicago; the Cherry Festival grounds in Traverse City; A day at Cedar Point Amusement Park in Ohio; and several tourist stops in the Nashville area. In addition, the band members will need to provide for themselves a few meals (3 or 4 - see complete Tour Itinerary in a separate post) while on the trip. They will also want some spending money for other small items when we stop at rest areas, such as soda, chips, trinkets, and the like. We will also be selling juices, water, and Gatorade on the bus for either $.50 or $1 or so. It is hard to tell you how much money to bring, but figure souvenir t-shirts or sweatshirts are between $10 and $40, and the meals could average $10 - $15 each. It is up to you how much to bring. You may want to look into travelers checks in addition to cash.

We will also plan on stopping at a laundromat at some point in the tour, possibly after returning from Nashville, so it isn't necessary to pack clothes for all 11 days!  Plan on packing for about 7 or 8 days instead.
