Food info for Band Camp

6/1/2012

Thank you to the families who have already donated from the list of items that was sent out! It is a blessing to have so many with a giving heart.  A reminder to all other families to please send your items with your child on Tuesday, 6/5, many thanks from Tara & Holly.

Band members also need a bag lunch for the first day, 6/5.

We have also received 2 very generous donations:

1.  All our band camp diary products are being donated from a former LVW family, Wayne & Lori Steingraber when you see them at the preview night, please thank them!

2.  We have also been blessed with $200 worth of fruit and all our meat purchases from Festival Foods at a greatly reduced price!  Please patronize Festival Foods as a thank you for there generous support of the mission and kids of LVW!

3.  Margret Kubek made over 50 dozen home made cookies for our kids!  She will be at the Preview Night as well.

Thank you also to the parents who have volunteered to help prepare and serve the meals while LVW is at FVL!  Tara and I appreciate the help!

However, as we get closer to the LVW Band Camp dates, we are still a good number of parents short of filling our schedule.

Please check your work & family calendars once more and see if there is one day/one meal/ or 1/2 day  you can help.  Lunch times are approx 10:30-1 pm and supper is approx 3:30-7 pm.  Let us know what will work for you.  [email protected]

All meals will be planned and all you would need to do is a little food prep, setting of food stations, food service and dishes.  This will all be done in the FVL kitchen, so many of you have worked the kitchen for Winterfest or Middle School Band events.  It is a great set up and of course we’ll make it lots of fun!

Being a “parent of LVW” and member of the LVW Family, I was not sure what this all meant, but as numerous experienced Vanguard family members told me:

“Don’t worry about the details… just sign up, there will be parents along the way to help you learn and understand.  Just DON’T miss it! You’ll want to be part of this family.”

My advise to you then is the same, don’t worry about the details, there will be many parents there to help you out and teach you what to do… just DON’T miss the opportunity to spend time with these kids! Before you know it, they are on the road and gone for the later part of June- mid July!

The LVW season goes by quickly and so does summer… so don’t miss out!

Thank you again!
Tara Schlafer and Holly Kubek

PS.  We have some extra-fun things planned for this season’s band camp, that we hope, will make it like no other!  Come join us!
