Information and Itinerary for June 23 - 28

6/17/2015

The past few days of rehearsals have been very productive, with absolutely gorgeous weather and focused band members.  A good part of the opening number has been learned, with drill and music performed – on the field – on Wednesday evening.   As you know, we have the best kids in the world!

Here is information for the LVW members and support staff as you prepare for the upcoming rehearsal and performance week.

PACK A BAG LUNCH for Wednesday, June 24.  Rehearsal begins at 10:00 AM at FVL.  All other meals will be provided by LVW.

We will be staying in camp host homes for Wednesday night. On Thursday and Friday nights, we will be staying overnight at FVL, and on Saturday night we will be staying at Eastside Lutheran Church and School in Madison, so all staff and LVW members are to pack accordingly.

Remember, you should pack for FIVE days, but try to utilize small suitcases and duffel bags. We are traveling with school buses for this trip (Saturday and Sunday), so space will be very limited.

Rehearsal camp will take place on Wednesday and Thursday morning. We will be leaving Thursday afternoon for the Greendale show, returning to Appleton for Friday, and will leave again on Saturday and Sunday which will culminate at the Oregon Show on Sunday night.

LVW will be entering our first weekend of competitive parades and field shows of the 2015 season. Rehearsals and Performances this weekend include the following:

Wednesday, June 24 - Rehearsal at FVL
Thursday, June 25 – Rehearsal and evening Field Show at Greendale HS, 7:30 PM
Friday, June 26 – Rehearsal and 2015 Vanguard Classic Home Show at FVL, 7:30 PM
Saturday, June 27 – Sun Prairie Flags of Freedom Parade (2:00 PM); Field Show at Cardinal Heights Upper MS, 7:30 PM.
Sunday, June 28 – Oregon Summerfest Parade, 12:30 PM; Oregon Field Show, 7:30 PM

LVW will be housed in the following locations this weekend:
Wednesday night – Host Homes
Thursday and Friday nights – FVL
Saturday - Eastside Lutheran Church and School, Madison

Emergency contact information:
James Neujahr Cell Phone - 920-740-3924
Randy Kramer Cell Phone - 920-242-9835

Since this is a rehearsal, performance, and travel week, LVW members should remember to pack the following:

Sleeping bag and pillow
Air mattress (optional)
ONE small suitcase (Remember, we are on School Buses this weekend)
All personal items as needed (towel, soap and shampoo, change of clothes, DEODORANT, etc.)
BLACK SHOES AND SOCKS, BLACK A-4 T-SHIRTS, BLACK GLOVES, GUARD APPAREL, ETC. (Note we have SIX performances this trip!)
Instruments, music, etc.
Water jugs, sunscreen, sunglasses, comfortable marching shoes, hats, etc.
Good Casual Dress for church. Ladies and gentlemen MAY wear NICE DRESS SHORTS FOR CHURCH. Ladies, no spaghetti strap dresses. We are witnesses in our dress as well.

On Sunday, we will be worshiping in the 8:00 AM service at Eastside Lutheran Church in Madison. This may be a communion service, and if so, we are all invited to participate.

Checkout Procedures for Sunday, June 28:
If you are going to be picked up following the Oregon Field Show, and are not returning on the bus or with your school’s designated transportation, the following procedures MUST be followed:

1.  Your parents must pick you up where we are changing out of uniform. For this weekend, that will be on Sunday, at Oregon HS (456 N. Perry Pkwy, Oregon, WI 53575). Please be aware, if you are picking up your child, you must be there before the band is ready to leave. If you are not there when the band is ready to leave, your child will come with the band.

2.  Your parents must check you out with the attendance chaperone from your bus. This must be done with you and your parent present.

3.   If your parents are not there when the band is ready to leave, you will come with us. We leave no one behind – EVER!

4.  You may not ride home with anyone else other than your parents UNLESS you have a written permission signed by your parents, and UNLESS that written permission is put into our hands. DON’T FORGET THE NOTE AT HOME, because there are NO EXCEPTIONS!

I am assuming that the Shoreland bus is leaving WISCO at 7:20am this week also? Am I correct?
Thank you!
