Information for June 24 - 26: KML Rehearsal, Eagle and Hartland Parades

6/10/2022

You may have noticed that Posts and Schedules are being released a bit earlier than in past years.  There is a reason for that!  From June 16 - June 28, I (James Neujahr) will be on a tour to Germany with my wife Julie,  Wes Schmandt's German class, and other family members.  Two of our LVW members (from Mr. Schmandt's German class) will also be on the trip.  Julie and I are so much looking forward to this wonderful opportunity!  We will finally be able to go on this trip, which was originally planned for 2020, then moved to 2021, and now it will finally happen

During the time that I am gone, general LVW questions and concerns can be sent to Tony Kubek, our Head Volunteer Coordinator, at ackubek@gmail.com.  LVW members from the various schools should try contacting their local band director first.  For FVL, you can contact Elisabeth Wagner at ewagner@fvlhs.org.  MLHS questions should be directed to Charis Scharf at cscharf@mlhslancers.org.  LPS, KML, and WLHS students can first try Angela Hohenstein at angela.hohenstein@kmlhs.org.  LHS students can contact Jonathan Witte at wittjona@luther.k12.wi.us.  WLA students should contact Abby Kurth at akurth@wlavikings.org.

What to bring with you:
LVW members should pack clothing for three days of rehearsal and performance.  Please remember your personal uniform items, which include the black shoes/socks, gloves, and black compression t-shirts.

Check back on the Post from May 17 for a detailed packing list - just to make sure you don't forget anything.

Pack a bag lunch for the first meal on Friday, June 24.  All other meals for the weekend will be provided by LVW.

Times and Transportation for Friday, June 24
LVW will run a bus from FVL to KML on Friday.  It will stop at the FDL Kwik Trip (Hickory Street Exit).  Students from our other schools should check with your schools' transportation coordinator, or simply meet at KML at 9:30 AM.

7:30 AM               Arrive at FVL (East Entrance) Load bus
8:00 AM               Depart Kettle Moraine LHS
8:45 AM               Pick Up students at Kwik Trip #242, 980 Hickory Street, Fond du Lac, WI 54935
9:30 AM               Arrive Kettle Moraine LHS - Unload
10:00 AM            Bus departs for return trip to Appleton.  Don't leave anything on the bus!

Rehearsal will begin at KML at 10:00 AM.  We will use a "normal LVW rehearsal schedule" for both Friday and Saturday.  Wake up times, meals, rehearsal sectionals, lights out, and so on will be announced to the band.

We will view a live streamed church service on Saturday night at KML.  There is also a chance that a KML area pastor will provide LVW with a service that night.

Times and Transportation for Sunday, June 26

Checkout Procedures
If you are going home with parents and are not returning on the bus or with your school’s transportation, the following procedures MUST be followed:
1.  Your parents must pick you up where we are changing out of uniform. For this weekend, that will be on Sunday, at Kettle Moraine LHS. If you are picking up your child at KML, you must be there when the band is ready to leave. If you are not there when the band is ready to leave, your child will come with the band.
2.   Your parents must check you out with the attendance chaperone from your bus. This must be done with you and your parent present.
3.  If your parents are not there when the band is ready to leave, you will come with us. We leave no one behind – EVER!
4.  You may not ride home with anyone else other than your parents UNLESS you have a written permission signed by your parents, and UNLESS that written permission is put into our hands. DON’T FORGET THE NOTE AT HOME, because there are NO EXCEPTIONS!
