LVW in Door County!  Housing Survey Request

10/25/2023

We are working with the Waterbury Inn, located in Ephraim, WI.  The on-site manager there is a good friend of mine (Mr. Neujahr).  They marched together in the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps many years ago!  He has also been the musical arranger for many drum corps over the years, including the Colts, Blue Knights, Crossmen, and Madison Scouts, among others.  In his "retirement", he and his wife moved to Door County and became the live-in managers of the Waterbury Inn.

I called him recently asking about the possibility of saving a block of rooms for LVW parents, friends, and families (this would NOT be for the marching members - they will be staying at St. Peter Lutheran School in Sturgeon Bay).  I was most concerned about them being sold-out already.

We have the potential of reserving as many rooms as needed for the evenings of July 3 and 4.  The band will be in and around Door County on July 3, 4, and 5.  We will be marching in Baileys Harbor and Egg Harbor on July 4.

However, he said that at this time, the entire resort is available!  They won't open up their reservations until after Thanksgiving.  There are 46 rooms available at this time!

I would invite you to check out the link to the Waterbury Inn.  It is a gorgeous hotel, and includes an indoor and outdoor pool, picnic area with grills and fire pit, a Great Room, among others.

The pricing is not set yet for the coming year, but he anticipated the prices for a 1 bedroom suite to be in the neighborhood of $230 - 240 per night.  A 2 bedroom suite will be around $300 per night.  The prices are not out of line with Door County lodging, especially during a peak holiday like July 4.

This might be a great time to team up with another LVW family and share a room.  We know that many of you have become great friends with other LVW parents!  You also do not have to be a current LVW family.  LVW Alumni, here is your perfect chance to get together and rekindle some old memories!

This survey is NOT a sign up for a room!  If there is enough interest, I will contact the Waterbury Inn and give them an indication of how many rooms to reserve in a block for LVW.  It will then be up to individual families to contact them and reserve the room from the block in your own name.  This survey is simply to gauge if we should reserve a block or not.

If you are NOT interested in staying at the Waterbury Inn with an LVW block, please don't fill out this survey.

Please complete this survey by Sunday, November 12.  At that time, I will contact them with the results and our next steps.

Thanks so much!
